Who are the Growlers?
The West Florida Growlers are a diverse community of individuals in the BEAR COMMUNITY. Our members range from young Cubs to Daddy Bears. And, you'll find the interests just as varied. If there were but one word you could use to describe the Growlers, it would have to be accepting. "Different Clubs, One Great Bear Community"
What do Growlers do?
We are dedicated to provide
both a Social and a Service environment for our members. We sponsor fund raising
efforts to help community service organizations. We hold our annual Teddy Bear
Drive (collecting toys for local children's organizations), Pictures with Santa
and an Annual Charity Auction for many local charities, we have been able to
raise over $15,000 over the last 6 years and provide hundreds, if not thousands,
of teddy bears! Don't forget about our annual Bear Run: Bears in Paradise or
BIP. This annual event offers a very relaxing weekend while enjoying the company
of Bears. BIP is held each May at a local hotel. BIP 2007 will be held at the
Suncoast Resort, St. Petersburg, Florida. We ensure that your Social Calendar
will be full. Besides our monthly meeting (7:30pm, the 1st Saturday of the month
at The Platform, we have parties, dine-outs, movie nights and various outings
