The West Florida Growlers are a diverse group of individuals. Our members range from Cubs, Bears, Daddies, Otters, Admirers & Gray Bears. And, you'll find the interests just as varied. If there were but one word you could use to describe the Growlers, it would have to be "accepting"

What do the West Florida Growlers do?

We are dedicated to providing both a Social and a Service environment for our members. We sponsor fund raising efforts to help fund community service organizations. We hold our annual Teddy Bear Drive and Pictures with Santa for local children's organizations. A Charity Auction benefits many local charities, we have been able to raise over $15,000.00 over the last 6 years.

Don't forget about our Annual Bear Run, Bears in Paradise. BIP offers you a very relaxing time while enjoying the company of Bears in a very friendly. BIP is held each May. In 2009, due to an economic down turn there will be no Bears In Paradise Weekend however there will be a Members Only Event.

We can also guarantee that your Social Calendar will be full. Besides our monthly meeting (8:00pm, the 1st Saturday of the month at the City Side in Tampa, Florida), we have parties through out the month, special bar nights, and check out our monthly schedule of events.

Who can be a West Florida Growler?

Membership ship is open to any gay male 21 years old or older. We have several type of memberships: Single, Couple, where 2 adults living at a single address  and "Family", where 3 or more adults live together and function as a single household.

Each come with different privileges, and of course, dues. Every new member should attend a meeting and or function and needs current full member in good standing to sponsor them. They are then approved by the Board of Directors after which they are presented to the General membership .

Each member receives: annual Club T-Shirt, a monthly newsletter, Full voting rights, access to member exclusive events and discounts as well as other various benefits.

How much are dues?

$25 for single membership, $40 for couples and for family (more than 2 members in one household determined by the Board of Directors as membership is approved.

Dues are due by January 31 of each year and anyone joining in October through December is actually joining for the following year. During this time, there is membership drive that current members in good standing compete to sponsor the most new members. Be on the look out for these bears! They carry the true Growler spirit.

How can I join?

Print the Membership Application (PDF Format) and fill it out. Bring your completed membership application to a General Membership meeting, Board Meeting, a club function or simply mail it in with your first year's dues! Acceptance of members is done on a monthly basis at the Board meetings.

What are the guidelines for the West Florida Growlers?

You may review our current By-Laws and Standing Rules for any specific issues. Standing Rules are reviewed and updated from time to time. These have recently been updated by committee and approved by the General Membership at the March 2007.

Where do the West Florida Growlers meet?

First Saturday of the Month join the West Florida Growlers at our home bar: City Side located on Henderson Avenue in Tampa, Florida at 8:00 pm.

What about other events if I am not ready to join?

You may check our Club Calendar or join the Yahoo! Group for the West Florida Growlers to stay up to date on the most current events and happens with the club. Membership to the Club is not necessary in order to join the egroup.
